In 2012 we acquired used electrical panels and circuit breakers from a school district auction which came from a high school that was torn down in 2010 shortly after students were let out for the summer. Approximately $41 million (school bond) was allocated to rebuild the high school as it would have cost considerably more to do a seismic upgrade.

Based on manufacturer date and removal from the school this breaker may have been used for up to about 11 years.

Under appropriate conditions life expectancy for molded case circuit breakers in the industry is generally expected to be about 30-40 years (Google Info).
